Speaker:

As a regular listener to Pod Chat, you've probably noticed it's been a little bit quieter the last few weeks.

Speaker:

And there's a couple of reasons for that, but first, apologies.

Speaker:

I appreciate you taking the time to follow this show, and I want to make sure you're not disappointed.

Speaker:

So that's one of the reasons, actually, why it's been a bit quieter,

Speaker:

is ensuring that guests that I have lined up are the ones that you expect as leaders in the industry,

Speaker:

to ensure the quality remains as it has been since Pod Chat started last year.

Speaker:

To that end I revamped who I'm bringing on and there's some great guests lined up over the summer and beyond and I really can't wait to share them with you.

Speaker:

The second reason is I've been incredibly, incredibly busy both personally and professionally.

Speaker:

Personally our two kids are both in sports and have had tournaments or are about to have a tournament with their teams.

Speaker:

Now this has meant a lot of travelling, a lot of free time that I would normally have being eaten up and that's fine.

Speaker:

You want the best for your kids obviously, but it has meant that I've been able to spend less time on the podcast.

Speaker:

And at Captivate, where I'm head of podcaster support and experience, we've had a busy few months

Speaker:

as we've led up to a massive new product feature that was released earlier this month in May, as this episode's being recorded.

Speaker:

I'll speak more on that feature very soon. But that's kept me really busy professionally as well,

Speaker:

so combined with the personal busyness, it has left very few hours in the day.

Speaker:

But now with some free time I can get my focus back to Pod Chat and

Speaker:

delivering the kind of content that hopefully you as a regular listener

Speaker:

enjoys. So Pod Chat will return next month in June and as I mentioned there's some

Speaker:

amazing guests and really good content coming your way so I look forward to

Speaker:

bringing that to you soon. Now as I mentioned earlier, at Captivate we've had

Speaker:

a massive product release and this release addresses the question of

Speaker:

monetization and how to get more involved with your listeners and for you

Speaker:

to reward these listeners and supporters with really cool features like exclusive

Speaker:

content, early access content, stickers, anything you want really. But the really

Speaker:

cool thing is how all this integrates with Captivate. If you're a Captivate

Speaker:

podcaster it's really easy for you to integrate all these features into your

Speaker:

episode production flow. Now instead of having to send the newsletter out to say

Speaker:

there's a new exclusive episode out, this will go directly to your supporters.

Speaker:

Whether that's early access by two, three, four days or exclusive bonus content that's

Speaker:

not available anywhere else and only available to certain membership tiers.

Speaker:

It's a really cool way for listeners to support their favorite podcaster and for

Speaker:

podcasters to reward your listeners and give them really cool benefits that

Speaker:

makes them feel even more part of the show. If you want to support Pod Chat, A)

Speaker:

thank you and B) you can do that easily at podchat.ca/support

Speaker:

There you can choose from a one-off tip or choose from one of the tiers I've set

Speaker:

up. Each tier offers something different, from laptop sticker, shoutouts on the

Speaker:

show, early access to every episode before anybody else, as well as some

Speaker:

really cool exclusive content. There will also be some occasional fun surprises

Speaker:

down the line and that's for all tiers. So if you find value in Pod Chat and the

Speaker:

guests I have on and the topics they talk about, I'd love for you to be a supporter.

Speaker:

Thank you for being with Pod Chat so far and as I mentioned I can't wait to bring

Speaker:

the new guests on within the next few weeks. In the meantime stay safe and

Speaker:

and happy podcasting.
